Mr. John's Biography

John Piano Teacher

John is a South Korean pianist and teacher. His students have won competitions leading them to perform in worldwide kwon concert halls such as the Carnegie Hall Weill Hall, and the Bruno Walter Auditorium in Lincoln Center. John’s student’s also have been accepted to precollege programs in Mannes School of Music, and the Juilliard School. His students have also received satisfactory results from NYSSMA and ABRSM exams and auditions. John is currently teaching at the Manhattan School of Music under the Teaching Fellowship.

 

John started his musical studies at the age of 8 under his mother’s tutelage. He is the student of the eminent Oxana Yablonskaya, Zenon Fishbein, and Phillip Kawin. He has performed and won numerous accolades, scholarship awards, worldwide leading him to perform internationally. He has performed as a soloist with orchestras under the baton of Maestro Sadewhite, Maestro Strasser, and Maestro Phillipe Entremont. John also has received masterclasses with Ivan Moravec, Tamas Vasary, Claudio Mendez, Nikolai Sivelov, and Phillipe Entremont.

 

John is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Musical Arts degree at the Manhattan school of Music, under the Vera Blacker Piano Scholarship. John is fluent in English and Korean.
