Ms. Lyn Biography

Born in China, Lyn began her piano studies at age five. She was admitted to the pre-college
program at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing at age twelve. 

 

From 2006, she participated and received top prizes in multiple international youth piano competitions and made her solo debut in Guangzhou, China, 2010.  The Southern Daily reviewed Ms. Guo’s accomplishment as: “In her performance of all musical eras, the maturity and expressiveness won her the standing ovations and unstoppable applause.” (Source: Southern Daily, Education Page, Southcn.com May 2010).

 

In 2012, she came to the United States and began her studies at the College- Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati under the mentorship of Dr.Jackson Leung. (BM in piano
performance, 2016). She then joined the Jacobs School of Music, Indiana Univeristy for graduate studies in the studio of Jean-Louis Haguenauer. (MM in piano performance, 2019). During her college years, she developed a passion for chamber music and is an active performer. 

 

As a piano teacher, her teaching philosophy is to stimulate the creativity of students and help
them to develop their own authentic musical interpretations. She is fluent in both Chinese and English.
