Ms. Manuela's Biography


Manuela is a pianist and a music educator. She was born in 1997 in NYC, but was raised in the Dominican Republic. She started playing classical piano at the age of 13 years old. As a teenager she won a scholarship at the best music school in the Dominican Republic"Estudio Dina" and years later took piano lessons at the conservatory of music in Santo Domingo with renowned pianists like Maria Morel-Pierret. Her music mentor for several years was a famous Dominican violinist and conductor Caonex Peguero Camilo. Years later Manuela moved back to New York to accomplish her dream to become a professional pianist and a music conductor. She mastered her piano skills with renowned pianists like Amber Hsuan Liao and Barbara Podgurski. In 2020 she won a summer scholarship to study conducting with Miguel Harth-Bedoya, a famous Peruvian conductor and later on took conducting lessons with the music director and conductor Scott Jackson Wiley. Manuela is currently pursuing a degree in music studies and music education at the BMC. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
